Tamara has had a love of the outdoors since she was a kid hiking through the Cicero Swamp behind her childhood home catching fish, frogs, turtles, and salamanders. Even ice skating on the swamp waters in winter.  Every summer, her parents rented a cottage for three weeks on Otty Lake in Perth, Ontario, Canada, where there was always new wilderness to discover and ridges to climb.

For 25 years, Tamara dedicated her life to law enforcement. Two years with Clay PD and 23 of those years as a NY State Trooper on Road Patrol (where all the “action” was), a Field Training Officer (FTO) training new Recruit Troopers, and as a Crime Scene Tech (CST) with sporadic assignments in FIU (Forensic Identification Unit).

Upon retiring from the Troopers in 2011, she volunteered at the VA picking up disabled veterans around CNY and transporting them to their appointments at the VA Hospital. Tamara was also in the Army Reserve from 1984 to 1992.

In 2015, Tamara became a Licensed Real Estate Sales Person, working the majority of that time with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services.

In 2018, she fulfilled a 30-year dream of owning a cabin on 9+ acres of wooded land in Redfield, NY. She discovered Redfield when it was part of her patrol area during the time she was assigned to the SP Pulaski barracks as a Trooper and fell in love with the area.

Because of that love for rural and wooded areas, Tamara has moved to her cabin in Redfield permanently with her three dogs and six hens.  She has a special appreciation for the Tug Hill area. Her love of the outdoors and all the beautiful areas in and around Tug Hill made it an obvious choice to join NY Outdoor Realty and help those who are looking for land, cabins, hunting camps, lake homes, country homes, etc., and who have a love for that same lifestyle or weekend recreation.
